Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is an aesthetic surgical procedure performed to alter the shape and structure of the nose. This procedure may be carried out not only for aesthetic purposes but also for functional reasons. Rhinoplasty is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures to improve the appearance of the nose, relieve breathing difficulties, and correct the nostrils.

The purpose of rhinoplasty:

  • Correcting deviations in the shape of the nose
  • Addressing issues such as a bulbous or over-rotated nasal tip
  • Correcting a depressed or drooping nose
  • Making the nostrils more symmetrical
  • Resolving breathing difficulties (caused by nasal septum problems)

Types of rhinoplasty:

  • Open rhinoplasty: A small incision is made on the skin of the nose to access the nasal structure. This method is used for more serious concerns and more extensive changes.
  • Closed rhinoplasty: The procedure is performed through incisions made inside the nose. This method results in minimal scarring and is suitable for smaller changes.

Procedure and recovery process:

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 1–3 hours. After surgery, a splint or plastic device providing firm support may be placed on the nose. The recovery process varies individually, but patients usually complete the main stage of recovery within 1–2 weeks. Final results become visible within 6 months to 1 year, depending on skin thickness.

Why choose rhinoplasty?

  • An aesthetically symmetrical and balanced nasal shape
  • More natural and attractive facial features
  • Improved breathing function
  • Increased self-confidence

Rhinoplasty should be performed by an experienced, qualified surgeon. Before deciding to undergo surgery, you should discuss your goals and expectations openly and in detail with your doctor.
