Who is a suitable candidate for rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty may be suitable for people who are unhappy with the shape of their nose, have developed a nasal deformity after trauma or experience breathing difficulties due to the structure of the nose. Suitability is assessed based on general health, completion of facial growth and realistic expectations.
What is the difference between rhinoplasty and septoplasty?
Rhinoplasty mainly focuses on changing the external shape and proportions of the nose. Septoplasty is performed to straighten a deviated nasal septum and improve airflow. A procedure that combines aesthetic and functional correction is known as septorhinoplasty.
Can breathing problems be corrected during rhinoplasty?

Which is better: open or closed rhinoplasty?

Is rhinoplasty painful?

How long is the recovery period after rhinoplasty?
In most cases, the nasal splint is removed after approximately one week. Depending on the type of work and the extent of surgery, returning to normal daily activities may take around 1–2 weeks. Return to exercise and strenuous physical activity should be determined after a medical review.
When will the final result of rhinoplasty be visible?
Initial swelling decreases over several weeks, but complete healing and refinement of the nasal shape take longer. Swelling at the tip of the nose may resolve gradually. In some patients, the final result may take 6–12 months to become fully visible.
Will there be a scar after rhinoplasty?
In closed rhinoplasty, the incisions are located inside the nose, so there is usually no visible external scar. In open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made between the nostrils. The appearance of the scar depends on skin characteristics, the healing process and compliance with postoperative care instructions.
Are there risks associated with rhinoplasty?
As with any surgical procedure, rhinoplasty carries certain risks, including bleeding, infection, swelling, changes in sensation, breathing difficulties, asymmetry and the possible need for revision surgery. Potential risks are discussed individually during the consultation.
